Upcoming Public Access TV Show

Hi, all!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been busy getting my crew together to run cameras, audio, graphics, etc. and working on a shooting schedule. Pleased to say I now have the nine members necessary for my crew and we are scheduled to train on the equipment 10/1 and 10/15. If all goes well, we’ll tape our first segment on 10/29! The studio wants three pre-taped segments before we air — in case there’s a cancellation in taping due to weather or illness. So, I’m planning on airing our first segment of Beyond the Shadows for January 2020. New show for a new year.

I will have a website dedicated to the show — it’s being designed as I write this (www.beyondtheshadowstv.com), which will feature all the videos as well as bios of guests and links for where to get services as well as hotline numbers. I also have an email address for the show (beyondtheshadowstv@gmail.com). Please feel free to write me with any suggestions for topics.

The show will focus on issues related to child sexual abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. My guests will include survivors who will share their stories of trauma and healing as well as individuals and members of organizations who provide services. Topics will range from domestic minor sex trafficking to alcoholism/drug addiction and eating disorders among survivors to date rape and consent to de-escalation techniques, learning how to thrive and alternative healing modalities.

I’m very excited about this project. It seems like this is where the universe is taking me. I want to spread the message that survivors are not alone in their struggles and that there is hope. I want to offer tools and strategies for healing as well as educate the greater community as to the myriad challenges survivors face.
